THE STORY
The subject of this piece is the spot in a waterfall where the cascade hits the earth. Like an astronomical x-ray telescope image, it is also a record of one dynamic instant in the history of energy. The darker the color, the more force the water exerted as it hit the earth or rebounded back up towards the sky in that moment. The darkest background areas are andesite rock walls in the Columbia River Gorge and represent the densest energy in the image. Andesite is a columnar, geometric basalt found only in this area.

Cosmology has a large, faint abstract first edition DBD logo in the upper left hand corner, visible in many of these images.

MATERIAL OPTIONS
SILK GEORGETTE: lightweight, matte, filmy, and semi-transparent. Romantic and dramatic. Brilliant in warmer weather and a great layering piece year round.

12 MM CREPE DE CHINE: slightly heavier and translucent with beautiful drape, depth, and subtle shine. Great year round.

COLOR
ANDESITE MONOCHROME: a graduated palette of blacks, grays, and whites.

INDIGO MONOCHROME: just as graduated but slightly bluer and cooler, moving from deep, saturated indigo gray to pale blue gray with a touch of lavender and white.

NOTE: longer wraps give women with broader ribs and/or fuller bust lines (36/38 and up) the option of tying their wrap as a sarong--or anyone more tying options.   

CRAFTSMANSHIP
All DBD silk scarves and wraps are individually artisan printed on a photographic printer and hand-hemmed in the USA. Creatively conceived and executed in the mists of Western Oregon and produced in the California wildfire zone, they bear not only beauty and versatility but also a message of regeneration. Each one is unique and slight individual variations are normal.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Hand wash or spot clean with gentle soap (we like SDH fine fabric wash). These pieces also appreciate having a couple of tablespoons of sea salt added to the rinse water. Iron or steam as desired. Please do not rub fibers when wet, because (like people) in this condition they tend to be vulnerable.

Each piece comes in a black photographic proof box to protect it from dust and light. The box also contains a small, printed paper replica of the piece with Deborah's signature, date, and edition number on the back.
